Well, I am finally back at home and sorting through all the luggage and equipment to settle back into normal life. I had such a wonderful time in Europe! Many thanks to all my friends who supported me while I was getting ready for my race - and what a challenging race it was! 4k swim - 130k bike - 30 run. I posted the 3rd fastest women's run time and a decent bike split made up for a fairly shockingly bad swim time for me. I ended up 9th pro woman overall and with Haley Cooper Scott's (USA) 8th place finish, we were able to capture the Team gold for USA! Click this for some press from USAT.
Again, many thanks to Petra and Natalie Abel, my coach's family who just happened to live a convenient 25 minutes from the course - they have become my Euro-family, for sure! Also, thanks to USAT and Tyr for supplying our great racing and warmup gear too!
I will post more pictures and a full race report in the next few days - I have several clients to catch up with who have been more than patient while I've been gone!
